The Smashing Pumpkins celebrated the 30th anniversary of their breakthrough album Siamese Dream with a special show Sunday (9/17) in their hometown of Chicago with rarities, memories, and huge smiles.
The band, led by Billy Corgan, assembled at the singer’s tea room to recreate the in-store performance they had on July 27, 1993 at the Tower Records in Chicago.
Seated in front of images from the groundbreaking album and Tower signage was Corgan, guitarist James Iha, drummer Jimmy Chamberlin along with newer Pumpkin Jeff Schroeder as well as touring bassist Jack Bates and keyboard player / vocalist Katie Cole.
The group played two sets at Madame Zuzu’s in suburban Highland Park on the upper north side of Chicago about a half hour away from downtown.
