Sting kicked off his 2023 North American tour with a pair of concerts at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The former Police frontman recently wrapped up the European leg of his My Songs Tour with a mixture of old faves from the ’70s and ’80s along with cuts from his solo albums.
“I always try to give the audience what it wants, songs they know and love and are familiar with, but there’s also a bargain to be struck,” Sting told Clash Music in 2022. “At some point they’re going to have to listen to something they don’t know, something they’re not familiar with, and with the hope that these new songs will also become old friends eventually.”
The 71 year-old actor/model/musician sent out an S-O-S at the start of the show to the 20k attendees off the Strip with the Police mainstay, “Message in the Bottle” which segued nicely into “Englishman in New York” from his second solo LP.
