Catie Turner is a singer/songwriter from Bucks County, Pennsylvania who graduated high school in 2018, the same year she hit it big on season 16 of American Idol and made it into the top seven that season.
The next year she released the EP The Sad Vegan (2019). One of its songs, “Prom Queen,” was used in the trailer for Shane Dawson’s The Beautiful World of Jeffree Star. It’s success helped her get signed with Atlantic Records in 2020.
Her 2021 single “God Must Hate Me,” popped on TikTok, eventually racking up more than 100 million streams. The social network was wise to signed a distribution deal with her on their SoundOn platform.Last year she dropped her independently produced EP Grow Out Of You.
Setlist caught up with her this spring in Arizona at Innings Festival and recently she stopped by the office to chat with Bree Wilde about shows she enjoyed as a fan.
