Cher Joined Cyndi Lauper For Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Finale

Cyndi Lauper had the Hollywood Bowl dancing in the summer moonlight as she closed her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour on Saturday night (8/30), with a glitter-soaked finale.

The 72-year-old pop icon turned her last gig of the tour into a star-studded party, bringing out Trombone Shorty, John Legend, Joni Mitchell, SZA, Jake Wesley Rogers, and Cher to help her say goodbye in style.

The legendary Bowl in the Hollywood Hills was packed with 17,000 fans of all ages who roared their approval as Lauper tore through the naughty “She Bop,” tender “True Colors,” and all of her other hits before inviting Cher up for the grand closing duet of “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” as confetti swirled and fireworks lit up the night sky.

Several of the other stops on the 68-date tour offered their own star turns. In November of last year Chaka Khan dueted with her. A few days earlier Hayley Williams of Paramore appeared alongside her. Lucinda Williams (no relation) did “Time After Time” with Cyndi in December in Minnesota.

Lauper, known for keeping it real has said repeatedly this tour was never about stepping away from music, only from touring.
