4 Non Blondes Returns to Festivals After 31 Years Away

4 Non Blondes Returns to Festivals After 31 Years Away

“It feels really good to be at BottleRock,” 4 Non Blondes singer/songwriter Linda Perry said Saturday (5/24) at Bottle Rock. “I’ve never been here cause I don’t go out much.”

The San Francisco-born band, best known for their 1992 anthem “What’s Up,” from their sole studio album, Bigger, Better, Faster, More!, was playing their second gig of their reunion.

Other than a show earlier this month in San Diego (5/18), the group hadn’t performed a full concert since 1994. They did reunite in 2014 for a six-song mini-set at the Beverly Hilton.

Perry seemed at home at the BottleRock main stage with original members Christa Hillhouse (bass), Roger Rocha (guitar) and Dawn Richardson (drums), to the delight of the wine-sipping audience at the annual Napa, California festival.

The setlist featured a collection of favorites as well as a healthy assortment of unreleased tracks from their forthcoming sophomore album – three decades after their debut.

From Nirvana unplugging to Wu-Tang kicking the door in, this month has delivered an impressive pile of albums and plenty of ways to drown out Thanksgiving arguments. Here’s one for every day.
