Zac Brown Band blossomed from Georgia clubs in 2002 to the mindblowing Vegas residency at the Sphere in 2025-2026. Along the way the 9-piece band what can easily blend Southern rock with country and folk while improvising like all the best jam bands have produced a string of #1 hits which began with “Chicken Fried.”
That smash appeared on their 2008 major label debut, The Foundation, which spawned three more #1s on the country charts: “Toes,” “Highway 20 Ride” and “Free.” As of 2026 they have 17 #1 songs.
The current line of the band is Zac Brown (lead vocals, guitar, banjo), Jimmy De Martini (fiddle, violin, guitar, mandolin, cello, backing vocals), John Driskell Hopkins (guitar, baritone guitar, ukulele, banjo, bass, vocals), Coy Bowles (guitar, keyboards, organ, vocals), Chris Fryar (drums, percussion), Clay Cook (guitar, keyboards, mandolin, steel guitar, vocals), Matt Mangano (bass, guitar), Daniel de los Reyes (percussion) and Caroline Jones (guitar, keyboards, harmonica, vocals). The eight night Vegas residency pulled tunes from each of their eight studio albums, the latest being Love & Fear.
Zac stopped by the Setlist Studios to chat with Tony Pierce about that residency, what it was like to play at The Sphere and how Love & Fear was written with that show in mind.
