On July 18, 2021, legendary bass player Dusty Hill played his last show with his longtime band, ZZ Top.
How long was “longtime” in this case? 51 years.
Even more impressive, after some initial changes in the lineup during their first year; drummer Frank Beard, guitarist Billy Gibbons and Hill were the only members of the band from 1969 until Dusty’s demise.
Fun fact: They were all born the same year, 1949.
