Alan Jackson’s Farewell Show Featured Four Star-Studded Covers

After a decades-long award-winning career, on Saturday (6/27) Alan Jackson headlined his final major concert, titled Last Call: One More for the Road, The Finale.

The 67-year-old star has been battling Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a genetic nerve disorder that affects his balance and ability to perform. So he has chosen to hang up the acoustic guitars while on top.

“It’s not deadly,” he told the Today show when he was first diagnosed, “but it’s related to muscular dystrophy and Parkinson’s disease.”

Jackson was part of the legendary Class of 1989 who broke through at the same time as Garth Brooks, Clint Black and Travis Tritt. They were more interested in less polished music of the earlier ’80s and more straight-forward storytelling.
