Carrie Underwood kicked off her first of three opening engagements with Guns ‘N Roses Saturday night in Canada with a full set of her gems and three covers she’d never done before.
The Season four American Idol winner has had an adorable fascination with hard Guns dating back to 2006 when she covered “Patience” and “Sweet Child O’ Mine” back to back in Indianapolis.
Since then she’s covered Motley Crue, Ozzy, and Aerosmith. And when she first sang with Axl she called it “the greatest night of my life.”
At the Croix-Bleue Madavie Stadium in New Brunswick, Underwood warmed up the Guns N’ Roses audience with a set that begun with a rockin cover of Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation,”
What followed were a collection of Carrie’s hits and even more rock covers originally by Pat Benatar, Heart, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, and Motörhead.
Carrie’s versions of “Hit Me With Your Best Shot,” “Wild Horses,” and “Rock & Roll” were all live debuts for her.
Hopefully they’ll remain in her set the next two outings she’ll be opening for the LA bad boys.
