On Thursday in the South Side of Chicago, President Barack Obama’s presidential library received its grand opening.
Over his two terms, both the first lady Michelle and the POTUS hosted many musical events at the White House. Memorable performances included those by Billy Joel, Bob Dylan, James Taylor, Mick Jagger, Carole King, Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney, Sheryl Crow, Gloria Estefan, Aretha Franklin, Keb’ Mo’, Janelle Monáe, Sam Moore, and Justin Timberlake, among others.
So it was fitting that more than a dozen performers helped cut the ribbon on the eight story lake front center on Thursday (6/18).
The musical guests included Christina Aguilera, Marc Anthony, Bono & The Edge, Common, Jennifer Hudson, John Legend, The Roots, Bruce Springsteen, Tems, Eddie Vedder, and Stevie Wonder.
