Geese gave the most polarizing performances on SNL (1/24) in recent history, probably since the time Sinéad O’Connor ripped up a photo of Pope John Paul II after singing an a cappella version of Bob Marley’s “War.”
But the art-rocking New York quartet were not protesting anything. No photographs were harmed.
They simply played two of their splendid originals from their most recent album, Getting Killed (2025), “Au Pays du Cocaine,” and “Trinidad,” and the reactions couldn’t have been more different. Especially online.
“So, Geese is about the worst band I’ve ever seen on #SNL , and I’ve been watching since 1977,” tweeted @rychkid in a diss that has now been seen a quarter million times.
