King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard Play 3 Shows in 2 Days
September 11, 2024
For the hyperactively prolific King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, 2024 has become an anomaly in regards to new material.
Last month they released Flight b741 which is their only studio album of the year and if there isn’t a followup this quarter it will be one of the few years the Australian genre-benders have dropped just one new record in a year.
2020, 2016, 2012, were the only years they produced just one album. This is startling because since being together a mere dozen years, the masters of experimentation and creativity have produced 26 studio records, 33 live albums, 3 EPs, and 59 singles.
With just one new record to fawn over, it’s no surprise that KG&LW have performed every song on the new album multiple times, for the exception of “Hog Calling Contest,” which they live debuted September 8, their first of three gigs at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
