Limp Bizkit opened their Mexico City show on Saturday (11/29) with a tribute video to their founding bassist Sam Rivers, whose tragic death on October 18 at age 48 was announced by the band the following day.
“Today we lost our brother. Our bandmate. Our heartbeat,” they wrote in a long, touching message on their IG.
“Sam Rivers wasn’t just our bass player,” the message continued, “he was pure magic. The pulse beneath every song, the calm in the chaos, the soul in the sound,” and it was signed: Fred, Wes, John & DJ Lethal.
Once the video was completed, the band stood up after watching it with the sold out crowd at the Estadio Fray Nano, and embraced.
