After years of covering The Muffs banger, “Big Mouth,” The Linda Lindas were joined on stage with the two surviving members of the pop punk group.
On Saturday (3/22) Muffs bassist Ronnie Barnett and drummer Roy McDonald joined the young women of the Linda Lindas at the Goldfield Trading Post in Roseville, California, just north of Sacramento.
According to Barnett it was the first time he and the drummer had done such a thing since Muffs guitarist Kim Shattuck succumbed to Lou Gehrig’s disease in 2019 at just 56 years old.
“So, last night Roy & I were lucky enough to be asked by the Linda Lindas to join them onstage to play a Muffs song. Something we haven’t done since we lost Kim,” Barnett wrote to his Facebook friends.
“Much appreciation for them, their parents , their crew & opening band Be Your Own Pet for embracing us with such love, it means everything,” he wrote.
