Way down under, Phoebe Bridgers live debuted “Emily I’m Sorry” on Saturday Feb. 4th in Australia. The tune is from the forthcoming boygenius album The Record, due March 1.
That’s right, supergroup boygenius which includes singer-songwriters Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus, is getting back together after releasing an EP in 2018 before going separate ways.
Before she reunites with Baker and Dacus, Bridgers has been delighting festival audiences in Australia this month on her Reunion Tour.
Bridgers was at the Laneway Festival when she performed “Emily…” and took time out of that set to lead the audience in a foul-mouthed chant against Margaret Court, an 80 year old former tennis star who has been outspoken about her displeasure with same-sex marriages
“Who wants to say ‘f*** Margaret Court’ on three?” Bridgers asked the enthusiastic crowd. Many in attendance gladly joined in with the chant.
