Quiet Riot Debuts New 23-Year-Old Singer in Oklahoma

October 6, 2026

Quiet Riot introduced 23-year-old singer John Torra with a 14-song set at Oklahoma’s Cherokee Casino on October 1.

Leave it to an enthusiastic Gen Z singer to get fans crazy about Quiet Riot again.

John Torra hopped on stage Thursday (10/1) at Cherokee Casino in Oklahoma, tore off the band's sorta cheezy mask, and led the band that was formed in 1973 by Randy Rhoads through a 14-song set.

As ads flashed on flat screens in front of the stage advertising the casino’s burger and chicken specials, the 23-year-old singer gave it his all backed by longtime bassist Rudy Sarzo, Alex Grossi (guitar) and Johnny Kelly (drums).

Nirvana used the opportunity to sidestep the obvious hits and lean on David Bowie, Lead Belly and the Meat Puppets. Kurt Cobain’s final howl in “Where Did You Sleep Last Night” makes the usual unplugged-session chatter about intimacy seem rather inadequate. Also: Megadeth, Youthanasia (1994); The Cure, Songs of a Lost World (2024).
