Because I’ve been around the block, I’ve been lucky enough to see Ozzy several times, including the last show he did without his throne for what would be his final Ozzfest on New Years Eve, 2018, at The Forum.
As good as that night was, it wasn’t as wild as a decade prior at a car dealership in the San Fernando Valley.
A show I nearly passed up.
In 2008 I was a senior editor at the LA Times overseeing all the blogs there. Previously I ran a local blog, LAist, and I was still on the mailing lists of many promoters and PR people who’d send me emails inviting me to see shows of up and coming artists. Sometimes something amazing would come through, but it was rare.
