On St. Patrick’s Eve, 1987, Japanese Duran Duran fans were treated to the kickoff of the eagerly anticipated Strange Behaviour Tour.
After enormous success in the early ’80s, the stylish UK heartthrobs split off into two brief side projects.
Singer Simon Le Bon, keyboardist Nick Rhodes, and drummer Roger Taylor formed Arcadia; while bassist John Taylor and guitarist Andy Taylor joined up with singer Robert Palmer, former Chic drummer Tony Thompson to make The Power Station.
Once those shenanigans shook out, the band tried to regroup but Andy Taylor wanted to have a solo career and Roger was flat out exhausted.
The three remaining Duranies soldiered on, and thanks to the production help of another member of Chic, Nile Rodgers, Notorious was created.
