Platinum-selling Canadian pop phenom Tate McRae shifted into a new gear on her Miss Possessive Tour at the MEO Arena on Wednesday (5/7), doling out 13 tracks from her third studio album, So Close to What, including several live debuts.The sold-out show's 21-song set allowed the 21-year-old artist to showcase her talents as a songwriter, dancer, and singer.Opening with the tour’s title track, “Miss Possessive,” McRae planted the flag from the outset: this show would spotlight her newest material while flaunting the skills she developed as a child dance prodigy.
Born in Calgary, Alberta, and trained at the School of Alberta Ballet as well as her mom’s YYC Dance Project, McRae’s choreography throughout the show easily separated her from peers who only sing, march, or slither across the stage.As is the norm these days, the concert was divided into five short acts, each highlighting a specific vibe from her catalog.
