Despite being able to seat just 80 attendees, and being squeezed in a storefront in a Nashville strip mall so tiny that even the musicians say it’s smaller than they ever imagined, The Bluebird Cafe has helped launch the careers of some of the biggest stars in country music.
Stars like Garth Brooks, Faith Hill, Trisha Yearwood, Jason Isbell, Keith Urban, Dierks Bentley, and Miss Taylor Swift, performed at the unassuming cafe, magic happened, and their lives transformed.
Originally the small club was known for bluegrass and rock music, after some complained how loud it was – despite being fun – the Bluebird transitioned into a listening room focused on the fine art of songwriting.
Often those who penned the hit tune were ignored by venues. Likewise performers in Nashville who wanted to discover who the minds were behind hit songs, loved the fact that finally there was a place to meet and greet the artists behind the words and music.
