The youngest son of South LA preachers, Kenyon Dixon naturally grew up with gospel in the house. And only gospel. As he matured, he evolved into R&B both via his voice and his pen.
After releasing a slew of independent solo albums, in 2021 Kenyon received a Grammy nomination for Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Bring It On Home to Me.” The next year he was signed by Epic.
The Grammy noms continued in 2024 for “Lucky,” in 2025 for “Can I Have This Groove,” and just a few months ago he was nominated as a contributor for Best Progressive R&B Album for Come As You Are. It was his fifth nom.
Kenyon came into the Setlist Studios recently to tell us about his favorite apps on his phone and even one he swears he doesn’t use.
