Midnight Til Morning emerged in 2024 with a ready-made backstory, forming during Netflix’s Building the Band and moving quickly to prove they were more than a reality-show footnote.
The poppy group, Shane Appell, Zach Newbould, Conor Smith and Mason Watts, did not win the series, but the exposure was enough to land a deal with Chugg Music, the Australian indie label that has helped break Lime Cordiale, Sheppard, and Teenage Dads.
Last October the fellas released their first EP, Afterglow, later followed by the acoustic release Afterglow (Unplugged). Their lead single “Bye” already has over 1 million views on YouTube despite only being out a few months.
Shane and Zach, both Aussies, along with Americans Conor and Mason, stopped by the Setlist studios recently to show us their phones.
