It was a night of firsts for Elvis Costello when he rocked out at the Ruby Diamond Concert Hall in Tallahassee, Wednesday night (1/10), kicking off his 7-0-7 Tour.
For starters, it was the first time the Grammy-winning FM radio mainstay who has been performing for over 50 years ever entertained an audience in Florida’s capital city.
Elvis and The Imposters (Steve Nieve – keyboards, Pete Thomas – drums, Davey Faragher – bass, and special hired gun Charlie Sexton – guitars) also played a handful of tunes at the 1,200 seater they’ve never done together.
“A Town Called Riddle” was the first song in the set, a bold move as you’d have to be a Costello superfan – nay, a stalker – to have heard it as he only played it a few times, solo in 2016, and once in 2020 with Nieve.
