When the Wu-Tang Clan took over the court at halftime Wednesday (6/10) of Game 4 of the NBA Finals to perform, the situation couldn’t have looked more dire.
The hometown New York Knicks trailed by 27 points in what was sure to be the second loss in a row. The visiting San Antonio Spurs had sunk an NBA Finals-record of 14 three-pointers and led 76-49 at the half.
Madison Square Garden, whose courtside seats were lined by celebs from Taylor Swift and her besties Alana and Este Haim as well as Timothée Chalamet, Ben Stiller, A$AP Rocky, and Spike Lee, were noticeably muted, especially in comparison to how animated they had been at tip off.
But then the six members of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan performed a four-minute medley of bangers from their landmark debut, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers).
