Weezer played a semi-surprise acoustic set on the roof of a beloved Venice Beach bar on Friday (3/27), part of a weeklong Los Angeles rollout tied to their forthcoming tour and new album.
Rivers Cuomo (vocals, guitar), Patrick Wilson (drums), Brian Bell (guitar), and Scott Shriner (bass) appeared on the top of the Hinano Cafe, a watering hole that has been around since 1962, famously known as the favorite for Doors singer Jim Morrison.
While the Lizard King may have wished he could have done a set on the roof of the bar just a few feet from the sandy Venice boardwalk, Weezer actually pulled it off to the delight of the fans on Washington Blvd below.
Earlier last week Weezer announced via their social media channels that they would be rolling out an Initiation Week.
