Coachella Could Do Something Huge w/ King Gizzard & Lizard Wizard

Recently online there was speculation about who was going to headline next year’s Coachella weekends. According to some unnamed sources Dua Lipa, Tame Impala, and the Korean boy band BTS were rumored to be the main targets Goldenvoice were trying to woo for their 26th incarnation out there in the polo grounds of Indio.

Also SZA, Oasis, Radiohead, and Fred Again… are on the organizers’ short list, allegedly. And hopefully Olivia Rodrigo will finally be able to play a full set there.

But Coachella has the opportunity to do something truly epic that would dwarf all the chatter going on all of those acts: they should give King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard both weekends and let them play six completely different sets, three each weekend, with no repeated songs, culminating in an EDM journey aimed at making everyone forget Daft Punk.

Sacrilege, true, but one should always aim high.

In just 16 years as a band, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard have released 28 studio albums, three EPs and approximately 67 singles since they began in 2010.
