After all these decades we should know one thing by now: David Byrne is magic. For someone who comes across as a bicycle-riding nerd, he’s so hip. For a ’77 square, his band was one of the vanguards of several of the legendary NYC punk clubs.
And now at 73, he appears ageless, bubbling over with creativity, and mysteriously still from the near-future. So of course he could fit a dozen bandmates and singers behind NPR’s most famous office furniture.
Byrne and his not-so-dirty-dozen slid into the Washington DC NPR office Friday (9/26) just ahead of his sold out shows at The Anthem on 9/27 and 9/28 during the Who Is the Sky? Tour.
