The Ohana Festival started in magical year of 2016 with a basic goal: assemble smart creative bands of all styles next to the ocean, and use the gathering to help protect a stretch of California coastline that meant something special to Eddie Vedder long before Pearl Jam or even Mookie Blaylock were a thing.
Vedder’s love for Dana Point's Doheny State Beach, where the festival takes place, goes back to childhood.
“Doheny was the spot where I caught my first waves as a kid. I had carried so many indelible memories of being nine and ten years old out there,” he told Stage Right Secrets in '18.
