Lady Gaga was invited to Paris for the 2024 Olympics to help open the games and she did it with style, glamour, and in French.
Right along the River Siene, surrounded by dancers, musicians including strings and brass, Gaga belted out “Mon Truc en Plumes,” a tune originally sung by the French ballerina, Zizi Jeanmaire, in 1961.
Zizi probably would have loved Gaga’s performance that began as she descended a gold painted staircase right down the rue from the recently restored Notre Dame Cathedral.
“The title means ‘My Thing with Feathers,’” Gaga explained on Twitter. “And this is not the first time we’ve crossed paths. Zizi starred in Cole Porter’s musical Anything Goes which was my first jazz release,” she continued.
