Nearly eighteen years ago, at the end of 2008, Take That released their second album without Robbie Williams, The Circus.
It debuted at #1 in the UK, its lead single “The Greatest Day” became the boy band’s 11th #1 hit, and the album was the second best selling LP in the UK.
Only Duffy’s debut, Rockferry, moved more units, but it had the advantage of being released in March while The Circus, dropped on the first day of December.
That December was also a little awkward for Take That because across the pond, Miss Britney Spears decided to name her sixth album Circus.
