Ed Sheeran, days after being joined onstage by Eminem, turned the tables and joined Frédéric Yonnet’s set at the Blue Note on July 17.
Yonnet is a French musician and producer who has mastered the harmonica. In July of 2018, NPR invited Yonnet onto it’s Tiny Desk series and he was introduced by none other than Dave Chappelle who said, “Fredrick, “is an unlikely talent from an unlikely place. Fred is from Normandie in France.”
The comedian then told a story about how Yonnet was his guest at a Grammys ceremony and when he saw Stevie Wonder began playing for him. Stevie loved it and invited the Frenchman on tour with him.
So naturally one of the highlights of the five-son set Sheeran and Yonnet played together Monday night was “Superstition” from Wonder’s classic Talking Book album.
