Half of U2, the singer of Pearl Jam, and the sweet voice from Swell Season, honored Glen Hansard at his funeral Tuesday (8/4) in Dublin.
Bono, Breanndán Ó Beaglaoich, Cór Chúil Aodha, Damien Dempsey, David Evans, Eddie Vedder, Markéta Irglová, Liam Ó Maonlaí and Lisa O’Neill added music and words to the Irish Catholic ceremony at St. Patrick’s Cathedral for the musician who died last month after an early morning motorcycle accident.
Thousands gathered in central Dublin to pay their respects to Hansard, the Oscar and Tony-winning musician, actor and frontman of The Frames.
Others watched the services on video screens set up in the adjoining St. Patrick’s Park while countless fans around the world tuned in as it streamed online.
