David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz and Jerry Harrison will appear together September 28 for a live New York conversation and audience Q&A hosted by Haim’s Este Haim. The event will be recorded before an audience as the launch party for Talking Heads Radio, a temporary SiriusXM channel devoted to the group’s work and its members’ solo and side projects.
The four musicians have not shared a stage as Talking Heads since 2002, when they performed at their Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction. Their next widely seen joint appearance did not come until 2023, when they reunited to promote the restored re-release of Jonathan Demme’s Stop Making Sense. Since then, they have been willing to discuss the past together, even if the prospect of fresh songs or a tour remains far off.

Talking Heads Radio begins October 1 on SiriusXM Channel 145 and remains on satellite through October 22. It will continue in the SiriusXM app until October 31, offering the band’s records alongside music from Byrne, Weymouth and Frantz’s Tom Tom Club, Harrison and related projects.
Este Haim is the bassist and one-third of Haim, the Los Angeles sister trio she formed with Danielle Haim and Alana Haim. Beyond the band’s own Grammy-nominated run, she has become an especially natural on-camera interviewer and music-world personality, making her a sharp choice to guide four famously distinct Talking Heads voices through questions from an audience.
What makes this one matter is not merely the radio channel. A room containing Byrne, Weymouth, Frantz and Harrison remains a scarce thing, even in this era of Stop Making Sense anniversaries and friendly retrospective appearances. It gives fans another chance to see the people behind one of American rock’s most inventive catalogs in the same place, without pretending it is the reunion tour they have long said is not coming.
