Beyoncé was reportedly paid a royal treasure to help open the new luxury hotel in Dubai, UAE.
The Grammy-winning singer allegedly took home $24 million to perform Saturday, Jan. 21., for a private audience of 1,000 at the new Atlantis Royal resort.
Since Beyoncé hadn’t held a concert in four years, some of her newer material live-debuted in the hour-long spectacle. The most precious debut being the duet with her 11-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, of their song “Brown Skin Girl,” from the 2019 The Lion King companion album.
The night began with fireworks leading to a swirling orchestra which revealed the Texas native adorned in a golden gown belting out the Etta James standard “At Last.” It was the first time in 10 years Beyoncé had performed the classic tune.
What followed were a total of 17 familiar hits from her vast songbook like “Halo,” “Freedom,” and “Crazy in Love.” This audience of VIPs, journalists, influencers and celebs were treated to live debuts of other Lion King tunes: “OTHERSIDE,” “BIGGER” and “Spirit.”
