Detroit Rock City took to the Mexican Riviera recently for a week and half for the 11th Kiss Kruise.
Fans of Kiss, Dokken, Warrant, LA Guns, Lita Ford, Green Jelly, and former Kiss guitarist Bruce Kulick and others boarded the Norwegian Jewel in late October and set sail from LA to Ensenada and Cabo.
Starting at around $1k, fans were treated to five nights of that sweet, sweet hair metal and classic rock. Besides hours and hours of live music, there was karaoke, autograph sessions, face painting, yoga, trivia, story time, a drum-off, and even a Newlywed game starring Gene Simmons and his wife Shannon Tweed.
A highlight of the Halloween show was Kiss dusted off a tune that would have been in most band’s repertoire, “I Want You” from 1976’s Rock and Roll Over. The band, who are no strangers to live performances, hadn’t played the song for nearly 18 years. It must have sounded good on the Jewel because they had it back in the set the very next day.
