On July 16 in 2007, The White Stripes performed what is widely considered the shortest intentional concert in music history when they played just one note on George Street in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.
The quirky performance was part of the duo’s Every Province, Every Territory Tour of Canada, a self-imposed challenge to perform in all 13 regions of the beautiful nation.
Little did fans know, but it would also be the last days of the group, who rocked their final proper show two weeks later in Mississippi.
Of the tour, frontman Jack White later explained that it wasn’t just about playing music—it was about creating special moments.
