Rage Against the Machine kicked off 2024 with the saddest news fans could have imagined: they’re breaking up, this time for good.
“I know a lot of people are waiting for us to announce new tour dates for all the canceled RATM shows,” Rage drummer Brad Wilk wrote on his Instagram on Wednesday, January 3.
“I don’t want to string people or myself along any further. So while there has been some communication that this may be happening in the future… I want to let you know that RATM (Tim, Zack, Tom and I) will not be touring or playing live again,” he continued. “I’m sorry for those of you who have been waiting for this to happen. I really wish it was…”
The writing was on the wall in November of 2023 when Rage was honored with an induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the only member who appeared was guitarist Tom Morello, who was often the de facto spokesman of the LA group that got its start in 1991.
