The Midnight is a synth-pop duo formed by Tyler Lyle and Tim McEwan who met in 2012 in North Hollywood, California during a workshop about co-writing.
Mission accomplished: Tyler and Tim have since written and recorded a half dozen albums, numerous singles, and three EPs among other musical ventures.
Along the way they become one of the heavy hitters in the synthwave genre that harken back the mood of 1980s film scores, video game soundtracks, and early synthesizer-based pop by utilizing analog-style synth tones and old school drum machines to create cinematic atmospheres.
Their latest album Syndicate, which came out in October, was greeted with open arms from fans who have streamed their entire catalogue over 1 billion times, and by critics who eagerly await each release.
