Setlist History: Iron Maiden Sets Off On 331-Day, 189-Show Tour

On August 9, 1984, Iron Maiden set sail on one of their most successful tours of all in support of their new album, Powerslave.

The epic 331-day tour comprised 189 shows featuring hits from The Number of the Beast, Piece of Mind, and their self-titled debut, along with generous portions of the new album.

The World Tour was non-stop heavy metal goodness from the beginning of Winston Churchill’s speech to the last Nicko McBrain cymbal crash.

Maiden already had a set pretty well filled with dynamic metal tunes with soaring vocals, a dual-guitar attack, and noodling bass, but on this tour they were adding epic new songs like “2 Minutes to Midnight,”
