Doechii, the reigning Grammy winner for Best Rap album headlined the New York edition of All Things Go on Saturday (9/27) at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens before a sold-out crowd of 14,000.
Drawing heavily from her acclaimed Alligator Bites Never Heal mixtape, she delivered all the bangers like “Anxiety,” “Denial Is a River,” “Nissan Altima,” and “Alter Ego.”
But at the end of the set, she surprised the audience with the live debut of “Balloon,” a Tyler, the Creator track she had previously performed with him at Camp Flog Gnaw but had never rocked solo.
Critics highlighted the stagecraft and ambiance of her show. MXDWN wrote that the Florida rapper “emerged onto an escalating platform fashioned into a swamp with moss and overgrowth,” likening the energy to “the best night of your life at an Atlanta club.”
