Olivia Rodrigo has been doing all the right things to take her latest single, “Drop Dead” to the top of the charts, and as of yesterday it came true.
After doing a guest appearance at Coachella with Addison Rae, the Grammy-winning singer/songwriter did a secret show at the tiny Sunset Blvd club, The Echo, where she performed the song twice alongside indie darling Weyes Blood, then she jetted across the country to an open mic in New York City where she rocked the tune with just an acoustic guitar accompanying her.
And ta-da, she now has her fourth #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100. Great idea, right?
Bonus: by taking “drivers license” from her debut album SOUR to #1 in 2021, then watching “vampire” from 2023’s GUTS get to #1, and now “Drop Dead” from the June 2026 LP you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love hit the top this week, Olivia has become the first artist to debut the lead singles off her first three albums at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
