A video of Bruce Dickinson singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” is making the rounds today, but the Iron Maiden frontman performed it at the Pittsburgh Steelers’ home opener against the Seattle Seahawks on September 14, 2025. Dickinson brought the kind of high-flying voice that has powered the band for decades to Acrisure Stadium.
Born in Worksop, England, Dickinson joined Iron Maiden in 1981 and became one of heavy metal’s defining frontmen. The band has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, according to its official website.
Dickinson was in Pittsburgh for his North American solo tour, “The Mandrake Project Live 2025,” supporting his 2024 album The Mandrake Project. He played Stage AE the night before the game, then was scheduled at the Fillmore in Silver Spring that evening.
Dickinson is back on the road with Iron Maiden for the “Run For Your Lives” World Tour, the band’s 50th-anniversary tour built around songs from its first nine albums. After a September 25 stop in Los Angeles, the North American run continues September 29 at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
