The Cure Are Dusting Off Some Beautiful Deep Cuts

The Cure have such an embarrassment of riches with their deep catalogue of fantastic tunes from five decades, that even though they often play 30 songs a show, they still might not play a banger for 10 years or longer.

In their first two gigs back from a two-year break, Robert Smith and the crew have been reaching into the past and pulling out some beautiful music, including singles, they haven’t delighted their audiences with in a while.

And they’ve been doing it with a new member. Alongside Smith (vocals, guitar, keyboards), was Roger O’Donnell (keyboards), Jason Cooper (drums), Reeves Gabrels (guitar), Simon Gallup (bass) and his son Eden on additional keyboards and guitar.

Eden joined the touring lineup after Perry Bamonte, who had played with the group for 18 years, passed away.
