Cure fans are accustomed to doom, gloom, and eventual giddiness, which is why the three year hiatus the band was forced to experience segued into the biggest tour the British legends ever embarked on.
Once restrictions were lifted, Robert Smith and his not-so-merry gang blazed a path entitled The Lost World 2022 European Tour. The epic journey accounted for 46 gigs in 19 countries to over a half million fans.
Best of all, as usual, the band left little on the table. On average 27 songs were played on a typical night starting with one of the many new tunes they showcased, “Alone,” from the forthcoming Songs Of A Lost World (an album that was due in October but, whoops?) and concluding with the classic “Boys Don’t Cry” which they live debuted in December of 1978.
The only album that was more represented than the new one was their 1989 classic Disintegration.
The Cure is one of those rare bands whose hits and deep cuts are equally well-received live, thus they can mete out two-to-three songs from almost any of their 13 studio albums to the delight of the audience.
