At just 18 years old, Olivia Rodrigo became a breakout star in 2021 with the release of her debut single, “drivers license.” The heartbreaking song quickly became a chart-topping hit because it was so relatable, tender, and… teen.
The popularity of the singer and the song lifted the release of her debut album, SOUR, later that year, propelled by the singles “good 4 u” and “deja vu.” The album quickly went platinum in the US and has sold over 5 million copies globally.
Her stardom shot so quickly her first concert was not at a little club but at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in 2021, sharing the stage with huge acts like Coldplay and The Weeknd.
In 2022 she went home with three Grammys for her debut including Best New Artist. Quite a way to kick off a music career.
