David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz and Jerry Harrison will appear together September 28 for a live New York conversation and audience Q&A hosted by Haim’s Este Haim. The event will be recorded before an audience as the launch party for Talking Heads Radio, a temporary SiriusXM channel devoted to the group’s work and its members’ solo and side projects.
The four musicians have not shared a stage as Talking Heads since 2002, when they performed at their Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction. Their next widely seen joint appearance did not come until 2023, when they reunited to promote the restored re-release of Jonathan Demme’s Stop Making Sense. Since then, they have been willing to discuss the past together, even if the prospect of fresh songs or a tour remains far off.
In 1957 Buddy Guy and his guitar made the trek from Louisiana to Chicago and he became one of the most enduring guitar heroes of all.
This summer he turned 90, which means he won't make our Musicians in their 80s on Tour list next year, but he'll be top of mind for a shorter list of those approaching the century mark.
Tove Lo opened her ESTRUS Tour at Nashville’s Pinnacle on Tuesday (9/15), three days before her new album of the same name dropped.
Of the 27 songs she performed, a dozen were live debuts from the record, which still gave plenty of room for the old hits like “Habits (Stay High),” “disco tits” and “No One Dies From Love.”
Metal giants Metallica announced Wednesday that the massive stadium tour they launched four years ago will continue across North America in 2027.
The new leg kicks off in May at BC Place in Vancouver and wraps up at the end of June at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City. Between those dates, Metallica will make a joyful noise in 10 US football stadiums, including Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis and the Alamodome in San Antonio.
Sturgill Simpson spent the last decade becoming one of the most successful country singers who never seemed particularly interested in being a plain ol' country star.
Orville Peck did something Saturday night (9/12) that musicians typically save until after everyone has had a few weeks to learn the songs: he moseyed into San Francisco’s Castro Theatre with his band and performed his forthcoming new album from beginning to end.
Mule, Peck’s fourth studio album, doesn't drop until Friday but the sold-out Castro crowd heard the 13-song record nearly a week early.
The first trip The Killers made to the UK would be the one that decided their fate.
It didn't hurt that they had a handful of absolute bangers that they'd be rocking more than two decades later. But when the Vegas band made their first trip across the pond, they weren't so sure any of it would work out.
During its infancy, Riot Fest was an indoor event, not the outdoor mecca we know it to be now.
From 2005 through 2011, the Chicago festival was primarily a multi-venue deal, anchored at the Congress Theater but it expanded over the years to clubs including the famous Metro, Double Door, Cobra Lounge, Bottom Lounge, Subterranean, House of Blues and others.
Charli xcx opened her Music, Fashion, Film Tour Friday night (9/11/26) in Philadelphia with 30 songs, a live debut, an old favorite she hadn’t touched in four years, flying underwear and a guest appearance from her opening act.
The 34-year-old singer kicked it all off with an extended intro for “Rock Music,” the opening track from her latest wax, “Yeah,” “Apple” and “Wink Wink.”
Céline Dion returned to the stage Saturday night (9/12) for her first full concert in more than six years, opening her Céline Dion Paris 2026–2027 residency before a sold-out crowd of 35,000 in France.
Her comeback performance kicked off with “On ne change pas,” from S’il suffisait d’aimer (1998), but she only got through a few measures of the tune before emotion welled up in her.
Oasis are doing it again. After a hugely successful reunion tour, Liam and Noel Gallagher have announced Oasis Live ’27, a 38-show run through the UK, Ireland, Europe and the US beginning next May.
The tour kicks off with five nights at Celtic Park in Glasgow before the band heads home to Manchester for an astounding 11 shows at Etihad Stadium. From there they’ll hit Munich, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Paris and Rome before jumping across the pond for three nights in Boston and another three in Las Vegas.
David Lee Roth and Alex Van Halen spent decades as half of Van Halen, one of the greatest rock bands ever. Roth was not only the singer, but ringmaster, lyricist, and one of the few frontmen who could get an audience to look away for a moment from Alex's guitar hero brother, Eddie.
Alex wasn't too shabby himself, whose drumming was to air drumming what Eddie was for air guitarists. Their six-album run from Van Halen through 1984 produced some of the finest songs and ridiculous lyrics from the sunset strip to arenas around the world.
