Taylor Swift’s Lover debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart on Sept. 7, 2019 hitting numbers not seen since her reputation album broke records in 2017.
According to the magazine, Lover sold over 679,000 albums in its first week of release in part because the savvy singer made available four collectible deluxe CD editions at Target, as well as a variety of merchandise/digital album bundles on her popular website.
The sales and marketing paid off as Taylor became the only woman with six albums to sell a half million copies in a single week.
The only man to have done it? Mr. Marshall Mathers.
